My research in Philosophy or Education aims to use the tools of philosophical inquiry and analysis to examine a host of issues in the context of education.
My co-authored paper, “Bearing the Brunt of Structural Inequality: Ontological Labor in the Academy” is an example of such philosophical work, in which we use philosophical tools to identify and analyze a distinct, undervalued, and invisible labor that has been left unnamed and unmeasured: ontological labor.
I also contribute to the more general Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, such as seen in my co-authored paper, “Teaching Philosophy Graduate Students about Effective Teaching”, and conduct epistemological work on SoTL itself, such is seen in my Lenssen Prize winning co-authored paper, “Diversity Is Not Enough: The Importance of Inclusive Pedagogy”.
